AFC North Breakout Players To Watch
ESPN listed the AFC North’s breakout players to watch for 2012. Not surprisingly, they listed 1st and 2nd round draft picks David DeCastro and Mike Adams as potential impact players for the Steelers.
Both players are expected to shore up a battered offensive line that has been much maligned over the years. Many were surprised that the Steelers drafted Adams in the 2nd round and there are still some lingering questions about whether he will be ready to start.
“He’s a first-round talent who fell to the second round because of off-field issues. The uncertainty with Adams on the field is whether he’s strong enough to play in the NFL as a rookie.”
The Steelers may be confident in Adams however, since they moved Willie Colon to guard soon after drafting Adams. First round pick David DeCastro, on the other hand, is expected to start his rookie year, and many are predicitng that he will be a future pro bowler in the style of Alan Faneca.
